Put a little post on your toast and get the most out of Dish, self proclaimed “a restaurant.” Their identity is clear, and their deals are even clearer.

The Melting Pot

Double, double, toil and trouble,
fire burn and Melting Pot bubble.
Something delicious this way comes.

A fondue special from 12 to 3,
Saturday and Sunday make a good time for me,
Fondue of chocolate and fondue of cheese,
An orgy of fondue for $22, please

Double, double, toil and trouble,
fire burn and Melting Pot bubble.
Something delicious this way comes.

$6 Martini, $5 Wine
This all sounds a bit expensive,
but I couldn’t pass up the rhyme.
But give it a chance, and you will sure find
That a little fondue is one fun way to unwind

Hey, at least they’re not serving wool of bat and tongue of dog. Check it outt

Basil T’s

Numbered mugs line the bar (anyone know why?) and a sweet smell of an Italian grandmother’s kitchen fills the dining room. Basil T’s is an interesting mut — part brewery, part Italian restaurant. Since I am part German, part Italian, I fit in just fine.

Regardless of your ethnicity, Basil T’s does not discriminate.  So bring your Chinese friend, treat him to a home brew and some antipasto.

Happy Hour, 4-5:30PM, Monday- Friday, $1 off drinks, beer and wine

Mini buffet to boot

Danny’s Steakhouse

…seafood and sushi bar. This isn’t your grandfather’s steakhouse. Self proclaimed as “fun & fabulous,” Danny’s is poised to make your dining experience more exciting than your 10oz porterhouse. (That is really exciting).

With more deals than you can shake a steak at, you may be able to reach the stratospheric heights of fabulosity, a state of fun few mortals reach (I have).

I might be exaggerating a bit, but 1/2 priced wines by the glass will get you drunk.

DEALS:

Monday: 1/2 Priced Sake drinks

Tuesday: 1/2 off Wines by the glass

Wednesday: A selection of 1/2 priced wines by the bottle

Thursday: Free menage a troises appetizer for 2 with 2 entrees (That’s awesome? I have to double check on this)

Friday & Saturday: CLUB MUSIC (this is where the fabulous comes in)

Sunday: At the bar, 1/2 Priced PIZZA and Draft Beer. Full Prime Rib Dinner, $22

Brannigan’s

In terms of deals, Brannigan’s is the ‘man’-igans. I look at menu, cheap food. I look at the drink deals, cheap beer. “Man, everything’s so cheap here!”
“Shh kid,” retorts the bartender. “Don’t say cheap when the owner’s around.”

“I mean everything’s so inexpensive and a terribly good value.” (I listened for a minute in my marketing class, just a minute).

What I didn’t need to learn in class is that $1 Drafts on Thursday is a slammin’ good deal. Dare I say cheap. So take the time, look at the stats, the deal doctor has a star on its hands. Play ball

DEALS:

$1.75 Domestic Pints, $2.50 Domestic Bottles, ALL THE TIME

Tuesday Night: $1 Drafts

Wednesday Night: $1 Bottles

Thursday Night: $1 Drafts

The place is also “wifi friendly.” So every day is bring your computer to the bar day.

Fixx

Try not to be mesmerized by the freshly coated purple paint, the 20 or so Vizio flatscreen televisions raided from Costco, and the blaring Beyonce, produced on used speakers bought from uncle earl’s electronics ebay emporium. The “Fixx” is in ladies and gentlemen, this new iteration of fun on the red bank scene is nothing more than a slightly older Chubby’s with a new shirt and the same pre-teen tude.

Whatever

I was an asshole sometimes to my parents in high school, but then I eventually grew out of it. So what Fixx lacks in aesthetics or class it makes up with its deals. So give this kid a break. Forgive him for his growing pains and ugly years. We can all be Brad Pitt someday and providing bountiful deals is one damn good way to start.

DEALS:

Happy Hour, Thursday & Friday, 5:00PM-9:00PM

Drinks during Happy, $3 imports, $2 domestic drafts

Monday: $2 Budlight Drafts ALL NIGHT. Tap your inner college, beer pong all night, $30 per team. Each team member gets 2 free drinks.

Tuesday: Bartender said there were so many deals, he couldn’t get into it. I’ll hound him next time.

Wednesday: KARAOKE! and $2.50 Miller Lite Bottles

Thursday: $2 Budlight Drafts

Friday: $2 off Martinis (about $8)

Thursday, Friday, Saturday Nights = Ladies Night! All drinks for the ladies $2 off

Sunday: $4 Coronas

Red

Others may be in the red these days, but this place is trying to help put you in the black. Not necessarily the most inexpensive place around though, Red still manages to get your business by offering weekly specials, an upbeat, upstairs bar featuring live music, pitchers of sangria for $10, and a congenial staff exploring both stories of this corner restaurant. If you’re looking to escape to a television, find the first floor bar in the back or relax by the window one evening. Stay a while

DEALS:

Sunday: 1/2 Price Wines by the Glass ($4-8) and 1/2 Price Pitchers of Sangria ($10)

Monday- Thursday: 3 course Menu for $25 (Menu changes nightly)

Monday: “20 for $20″ 20 wines by bottle, $20 each

Tuesday: 50% off any bottle of wine on list, for members of wine club (clubs, jeez)

Wednesday: $25 3 course menu with optional $15 wine pairing. Wine pairing option includes Three Flights of Wine (not stairs) (what is a flight of wine anyway?)

Thursday: Cellar Reserves by the Glass. Try special wines by glass, no need to buy bottle

Also Thursday: $25 Sushi (Pretty sure it’s all you can eat. I’ll look closer)
