Basil T’s

Numbered mugs line the bar (anyone know why?) and a sweet smell of an Italian grandmother’s kitchen fills the dining room. Basil T’s is an interesting mut — part brewery, part Italian restaurant. Since I am part German, part Italian, I fit in just fine.

Regardless of your ethnicity, Basil T’s does not discriminate.  So bring your Chinese friend, treat him to a home brew and some antipasto.

Happy Hour, 4-5:30PM, Monday- Friday, $1 off drinks, beer and wine

Mini buffet to boot

Teak

Would Sean Connery look down on me if he knew that I ordered a Pomegranate Martini at Teak? Probably. But it was so delicious, and so half off, I will continue to drink my masculinity away. Besides, olives are gross.

This place is the king of half off. I didn’t even bother looking at the prices because I was so intrigued by everything being 1/2 price. Don’t get too excited though, it isn’t half off all the time. Only at designated times and Monday all night. Let me explain.

DEALS:

Monday: 1/2 off EVERYTHING (Food and Drink), 5-10:00PM. “Everyone knows about this,” scoffs the bartender. I wish I knew

Happy Hour, Monday – Friday, 3-7:00PM, 1/2 off EVERYTHING as well. Monday, exception, begins at 5PM, not 3PM

Sunday: All you can eat Sushi, $25. So eat a lot

This is a proverbial “Teak”, Tac, Toe — 3 in a row. ;)

Echo (can you hear it in the distance?) is gone, and Jamian’s has filled its place. There are Deals a plenty.

Buona Sera

Michael Cera, meet your maker. Buona Sera is here to stay and they’ve got some deals comin’ your way.

According to a sign out front, they apparently are the “Winner of Wine Spectators Award for Excellence. Monday-Thursday Bottle Wine Bottles 1/2 Off.” Good for them, better for me.

DEALS:

As noted above, plus…

1/2 Price ALL Drinks (so around $5-6), 10-12:00PM, EXCEPT Wine glasses

Oh, and if you’re into Cougars, they prowl around later in the week. Is that a deal?

Walt Street Pub

Also next to the tracks resides the Walt (not Wall, forget the story behind it) Street Pub. The service sucks according to the bartender, but it doesn’t matter to C.C.

That’s two C’s she says. A local and a regular, C.C. declares simply that there is “Damn, good food!” That is the kind of review I like, short and exclamatory. She adds, “I come all the time, since 1988, and the Jazz Lobster’s play Wednesday’s. Write us up good now!”

If I was writing reviews, I would give a positive nod. But there are some deals to be had! Indulge

DEALS:

During Happy Hour, 4-7:00PM Monday-Friday…

1$ Tacos, $.50 Wings (C.C. tells me they’re good), $2.50 domestic drafts

Meal Specials range from $5-$15

After you get fat on some wings, head around the corner  and treat your other senses to show or music at the Two River and Count Basie Theaters.
